In 2008, at Simferopol, a Folkloric festival of dances and songs at the foot of Lenin’s statue. Each group had a stand. The Tatars and Russians of Crimea were neighbours. The first group started a dance under the tambourines sound. In answer, Russians have sung in unison. It wasn’t a cultural exchange then It was a war who will shout the stronger. For the first time, I saw the hate travelling through the music.
Today, March 2014, at that same square, a line of men, carrying shields with the crimean colors, screams “Putin! Putin!” and “Glory for the Berkuts!!”, the riot forces who fired against the crowd in Kiev.
