Ramzan Kadyrov has been for a long time the strong man of the Chechen republic.
He was leading a militia of 7000 men, the “Kadyrovsti” who used to terrorize the population under the look of approval of the Kremlin. Officially, the Kadyrovsti were tracking down the supporters of independence, the rebels.
But according to Amnesty International and the International Federation for Human rights, they were specialized in kidnapping, torture and execution of innocent civilians.
Ramzan Kadyrov is also known for his megalomania and taste for excessiveness. He lives in a huge palace in the Moscow newly rich style.
Today, Chechnya is rebuilding under Kadirov’s iron hand. In less than a year, Grozny, the martyr city has totally changed and looks like a new city.
